My students enjoy outdoor activities. They love gardening , dancing ( zumba ) , drawing / painting and shopping . These are the activities we have been doing together - where I can easily integrate teaching of other skills and help them achieve their IEP goals ( Individualized Education Program ) . Due to the pandemic , doing things together has been a challenge . Having an ipad can help me bring my students "outside " their homes . This portable device can easily be carried outside where I can show them real time activities , scenarios and places . It would be more engaging to do things together ; like gardening , dancing , and just showing them the weather outside .I am currently using my phone during our virtual outdoor activities , but because it is small , I am having a hard time keeping it stable or in place for them to see me doing activities with them / or modelling activities for them. Moreover , our virtual lesson is sometimes abruply cut -off due to incoming calls which I have no control over with. Aside from using the ipad for outdoor activities , I can also use it to have access to other online virtual manipulatives and other applications that I can use to help them with their academic goals . There are a lot of applications and websites offering engaging activities for special education students.Unfortunately , I am currently using my district issued laptop which prohibits installation of certain applications , either it needs admin /rights or software upgrade to make it compatible with the recent applications. Please help me with this project so I can bring my students " outside " where they can continue to explore and learn while having fun.
