These books will have an incredible impact on my students who are all learning remotely. They have not held an actual book in their hands since March 2020, and it is almost October. My fourth graders are tired of reading a screen. Because of Covid 19, when or if we ever go back to our classroom, we will not be allowed to check out library books or share novels in our classroom library. I thought it would be wonderful for my students to own their own mini library of three books so that they could learn about diversity, and look back at this time in history and not just mark it with the pandemic, but with what they actually learned from their three novels.
