COVID caused many students to fall below at least one grade-level or more. I am constantly thinking of new ways to engage the students attention and help them learn. I also use white boards all the time. That being said I am constantly running low on white board markers. The students need hands on learning which is fun, effective, and provides visual interventions. In the classroom, I have learned the value of using math manipulatives. I will use the fraction tiles for when we add and subtract fractions to create equivalent fractions. The place value blocks will be used for understanding decimals. I would love for students to move the blocks themselves instead of watching me move them. We also use art integration at our school to help bridge the gap of learning. Art integration helps many students memorize things through music and to visually express themselves through art. Our music teacher is in need of musical instruments to help include the best art integration in the classroom.
