I have taken several professional development hours to learn different types of programs using technology, specifically the iPad. In order to help accommodate more of my students, it would be great to add an iPad to offer one-on-one tutorials for students. Teaching students with learning disabilities is a tough yet rewarding task. Being able to have the use of technology at our fingertips is an added bonus when it comes to teaching these students how to accomplish specific goals. Here in Texas, we have state-mandated tests that the students must pass in order to graduate. With the use of certain interactive apps and programs, I can pull students out to help them grasp particular concepts that will help them when it comes to test-taking strategies. I have found this to be very helpful as I have been to several hours of professional development training on these specific apps. I would just like to be given the opportunity to reach more students during my tutorial sessions, to show them what they all have access to with the use of technology.
