The materials that I'm requesting will help students connect to the past and look to the future through art. My students will be able to learn how to make one of the most basic art materials we have -- paper. With the paper-making kit, students will be able to see the process from the beginning to the end with a very hands-on experience. Students will also learn how to print on paper through creating their own designs, carving rubber blocks, and printing it on the paper they have created and other papers. Everything I receive will be used to help my students enhance their creativity and hands-on experience, which was often lost or overlooked during the pandemic. These art supplies will help my students connect to their peers as we use more inclusive colors of colored pencils and chalk pastels. I want my students to know that they are capable and can learn new skills as they express themselves through art.
