Events that have taken place have proven to everyone across the globe of how important it is to analyze our past as a society. The art of teaching Social Studies have shifted tremendously throughout the years. The pressure to bring Social Studies to life is ever more present today. However, Nearpod platinum is a tool that allows immediate interaction and engagement with the content. The 'field trip' feature also allows students to form real world connections with the places and people they are learning about. As a teacher I will be able to collect instant results for all my students, and students will be able to utilize the 'student notes' feature that will benefit my students the most. Nearpod will help me bring the most meaning to my students in their learning experience. By utilizing the tools that are embedded in Nearpod, my students will actively engage with lessons, form their own ideas and thoughts, collaborate with their peers, and acquire a sense of empathy as they explore through all the amazing tools. I have been using Nearpod with my students during distance learning and it has made a lasting impact on their feelings towards Social Studies. For example, one student said "I like how we can be interactive with it instead of sitting there while the teacher talks." I have been using the silver version of Nearpod but unfortunately my 1GB limit is up. With a Platinum account my students will greatly benefit from the tools, and use of student notes that this account makes available.
