Allowing our students full access to the Working With Young Children by Judy Herr textbook on-line will compliment our curriculum, provide enrichment opportunities and promote equality and access. The students can interactively use the textbook for both synchronous and asynchronous learning. For example, when teaching Chapter 18 The Curriculum, it is imperative to guide students on how to create a curriculum web, block plan and eventually lesson plans for a thematic unit. We have always shared textbooks but with a Pandemic and not enough books to go around I am left to scrounge up any possible methods I can to teach. The conclusion of Junior year culminates with a "Teacher of the Day" thematic unit presentation in our Pre-K classroom, we essentially use this text to build lessons. The textbook is our foundation to execute the curriculum and state standards. This project will grant students a chance to access material to help build quality educators but more importantly it will show them that community relationships and investing in our youth is prevalent and worthy.
