This project may be ambitious, but I want to be sure that my students can develop great skills as they complete their last year of elementary. Note taking, self-reporting, self-monitoring, and growing to love themselves is important at this time. Some of my students may not have access to the same things as their peers. To equalize the field for all, we will help them get to where they need to be. The notebooks are for them to take their notes and have "cheat sheets" when they are practicing their skills. The papers are for print offs and projects that we will be working on. The many books are so that we can do our books clubs and each student in the group can have their own copy of the book. The most important part is the bins. While the bins may seem like something that doesn't fit, they are so my students can become responsible and organized. Each student would be using a single bin to keep their interactive notebooks, their folders, their important items that we use (not the supplies) as to be sure they do not lose them. It will helps the students take pride in their work, themselves, and their classroom.
