My students LOVE to listen to and look at books! They enjoy choosing books to independently browse and practice reading to the dolls in the classroom. They love all kinds of books. However, our current book selection, as well as the dolls they read with during reading time, do not accurately reflect the diversity of the students in the classroom. This project will add a more diverse selection of books and dolls from which to choose and will more accurately represent the students in my classroom. Additionally, my young scholars are also beginning to learn about their own feelings and how to express them. The books and activities related to their emotions will help them to understand and express their feelings in a healthy and purposeful way. Expressing feelings appropriately can be a challenge and these books will give the students the tools they need to begin to understand and express their feelings!
