My school system defunded the elementary music program several years ago. We are in a position now where we can slowly start reintroducing to our students and our upper administration the idea of music education. I am asking for these instruments and parts so that I can show how effective music can be for the education of young minds. Students thrive on music and other forms of expression. Sometimes they need a break from the normal information. I want to deliver that opportunity to them, to their families, and to the administration of our school system. With the recorders, I want to start giving the students lessons on how to play, and with the replacement parts, we can repair the Orff instruments we already own. This way, I and my school can instruct our students on different ways to create, perform, and respond to music.
