The supplies I am requesting for my students with Autism, Down syndrome and developmental disabilities will allow me to enhance their elearning experience at home during this very difficult time. Traditional online learning formats are not capable of providing my students with unique needs with meaningful instruction. In the classroom setting, my students thrive when provided with brightly colored visuals paired with modeling and differentiating levels of support. My students are used to receiving hands-on instruction and kinesthetic activities throughout their school day. Due to the COVID-19 precautions, my students have to do their best to learn from the safety of their homes. This requires instruction to be delivered in a way that is fast, bright, vibrant and engaging in order to maintain the attention of my young diverse learners during live, virtual lessons. The materials I am requesting will allow me to present interactive lessons with minimal wait time, allow my students to see me in a live instructional platform and will allow my live instruction to be paired with meaningful visuals that support and reinforce learning.
