Reading is a lifelong skill and can become a lifelong love for many learners. The top three ways to become a better reader are: 1. Read; 2. Read; 3. Read. Read-alouds are always a favorite in 4th grade. After lunch each day, students move around the classroom to find a cozy spot while we choral read a novel together. We even get outside to do it when weather permits, but we have to hang on to pages so they don't blow away! While we have a pretty extensive collection of novels, many are worn and falling apart. We'd love to be able to replace some of our class sets with new versions that will hold up for future readers!
