I teach 4th grade at Forest Ridge- Optimum Learning Environments in Keizer, OR. We are a small school with limited resources. Our focus is on Civics, Technology, and Environmental Science. My philosophy as a teacher is that productive learning takes place only once basic needs and social emotional needs are met. The learning space I create is based on that philosophy- a safe and comfortable place for all learners. My goal is to make my classroom a relaxing "home away from home" for all of my students. This year I will be teaching the same grade level but unfortunately, I am being moved to a different classroom, a daunting task but also an opportunity for new beginnings. This is a great time to get a fresh start on making my classroom feel like a warm blanket. 💚
