Because there are many new guidelines associated with students getting back into the classroom during these times, certain measures have to be taken into consideration in order to keep them safe. One of these measures is to ensure that each student has his or her own materials for a successful school year. In addition, storing these materials in an organized manner will not only help maintain "social distancing" in place, but also a more smooth transition into switching out materials throughout the school day. In the event that schools close their doors again, or as we simply continue learning face-to-face during this time, gathering each student's materials will come with more ease. The toothbrush cases will be used to hold pencils for each student since they cannot share pencils. The headphones are to ensure that each student is able to focus on their learning at their own pace, with guidance from the teacher, of course. The masks will be for the students who may forget their own personal mask at home. The foam pieces will be used in order for my students to still feel some sense of normalcy by "coming to sit on the carpet." They will each have their own piece with their name on it, and they will use this same piece every day (while maintaining their distance from one another). The photo cases would be used to hold each student's personal set of math manipulatives, such as counters and play money. Laminating sheets would be used to laminate their labels to prevent as much wear-and-tear in order for their names to stay clearly visible throughout the year.
