I can't wait to use these materials to motivate my students who are blind or have visually impairments. Learning to read and write braille is just one part of the school day for my preschoolers. We spend time actively using our other senses to explore our world. Some of my students have sensory disorders making them want to avoid activities that other typical children might enjoy. By exposing them to a wide variety of activities, I am more likely to find ideas to motivate them to try new things and learn through exploration. Making a difference in the lives of these children is what it's all about! We can find new ways of capturing the interest of these developing minds through music, movement, art and by using our other senses. I love my students and one of my goals as a teacher is to show them learning can be so much fun!
