Many of the books used in my classroom are available in audio form and students listen as a whole group. However, my class is in need of headphones so students can listen to texts at their own pace. They often borrow from each other and given the current situation this is a practice I need to discourage. Headphones will make it easier for students to work at their own pace. Those who can accelerate can do so. Conversely, those who need to work at a slower pace can do so without fear of holding their peers back.
