The use of flexible sensory seating is crucial to aid in developing a growth mindset within my 3rd through 5th grade “Total Communications” classroom. Allowing each student to have a specialized choice of seating empowers their mental confidence. Currently, my classroom is furnished with regular classroom desks and my exceptional students are far from regular. Individualized flexible sensory seating for my students is a big deal. This type of seating will stimulate my student’s senses by giving them the option to learn in a comfortable environment. I cannot wait to see their faces light up with the thought of getting to choose comfort in the form of seating.
