I spent all summer preparing for distance learning. I attended tons of professional development, collaborated with educators across my district, and watched tons of Youtube to build my virtual classroom so I can help my students to enjoy and excel in math while I am incorporating technology, creating and reinforcing my digital curriculum to ensure my students to have a meaningful distance learning experience. Little did I know it would be the lack of technology that would be killing me. The only piece of technology given to me by my district to teach 160 junior high math students is a 2013 13" Dell Laptop 3330. I watched Youtube to learn how to connect my 2008 old document camera to my laptop. I have purchased a new scanner/printer, headset and 21" monitor to install behind my laptop. But I still can't see all my students on the screen at once because the laptop isn't powerful enough to show more than 25 of my 34 kids in each class. My worn-out district-issued laptop is not reliable to load programs, connect multiple websites and apps, connect a document camera, provide live teaching, and monitor students each day to meet the various needs of my students. Any donation is much appreciated.
