My students will learn vocabulary from Just Mercy as they read to understand it. They will use it to grow skills at their personal levels. They will read aloud and record their book reading and reflections with middle school students using chrome books and headphones. Students need purposeful reading practice. Most of my native English speakers are not confident readers. Some are early English language learners. This book offers many opportunities to discuss positive change. Students will record their readings and their book discussions to share with other grades in English or Spanish in our city. This project has the potential to impact my students' characters for generations.
