A new Time magazine each week provides students with new, current event articles. Articles that are based on topics that are engaging and familiar. These articles are tiered to reach the educational needs of students at many different levels. Also, we are currently teaching students to use technology in the classroom and at home. Time for Kids allows students to access articles online and also in the classroom. It's always positive for students to have their own copy of each article so we can teach them to annotate and highlight important words. Also, it helps to encourage close readings strategies.
