My students will be examining various miscarriages of justice via numerous local and national cases. Just Mercy is a case that I believe will be most interesting to students on many levels. They will learn, not only about the miscarriage of justice, but more importantly how it can take just one person to do the right thing in order to right a wrong. By reading this book, I would like them to focus, not so much on the injustice, but rather the strength and courage of a modern Atticus Finch.
