I am so excited to be working with my third grade students this year. It is a year like no other, but I would like to make it feel like the best year ever! One way that I want to accomplish this is by sharing my love of reading with my students. Even though we are not together in the classroom, we can still enjoy time together wrapped up with a great book. I want to provide each student with their own copy of The One and Only Ivan and Frindle. I know that they will enjoy participating in my daily read aloud, following along and then talking about the books. The dry erase paddles will quickly become a favorite learning resource. My students will be able to respond quickly to questions, holding up their paddles to show their responses. This learning tool will make it easier for me to hear/see responses from each of my students. If we were at school, my students would keep all of their supplies in their cubbies. Since they are at home, I want to provide each student with a storage bin so that they can have all of their math manipulatives, notebooks, binders, crayons and pencils together in one space. Being able to keep everything organized will help my students make the most of their online learning time.
