The materials chosen in my project will aid in students receiving packages that will enable them to learn at home virtually and feel confident about their efforts in learning and my efforts in supporting them. I plan to use these materials to create a safe and inviting atmosphere for children in the building and at home. Kits will be constructed to engage students in the learning process of ELA, math, and reading! It is my hope that reading allows my kids to go wherever their imagination can take them and I know that I have to pique their interest to teach them to read. I plan to use the DYMO label to create a personal space for all of my kids and their belongings. I also believe that discipline includes praise. Our classroom will focus on positive behaviors with lots of positive reinforcement. Praising students when they have contributed positively to the classroom environment is also a disciplinary 'tactic'. Students need recognition not only for positive reinforcement but for building self-esteem and self-worth. All students will receive praise when it is appropriate; good behavior is always worth encouraging and taking notice. I plan to use the snacks as well as other things to complete this goal. Lastly, the timer that I have included will provide visual support to my kids that need that extra push to complete work, see through cool downs, etc. The materials listed in my project will help students with reading, ELA, visual support for special education, RTI support for behavior accommodations, etc. I appreciate all of your help.
