We would like to have a class set of The One and Only Ivan to share with our third grade classrooms on a rotating basis. As remote learners at home, each student needs a copy to enable them to engage in our virtual classroom discussions. Teachers are excited about sharing Ivan's story with our students to allow them to become compassionate and caring participants in the world around them. Emphasis will be placed on conservation and thinking through the eyes of a novelist. We will design a zoo as an extension activity.
