I teach at a school with a very diverse student population with nearly all children from low income households. It is important that my students see characters that look like themselves in the books we read. I want my students to read books that reflect and celebrate their culture. The materials and supplies in this project will celebrate the diversity represented in my classroom and show Black and Hispanic children that their stories matter! With your donation, I will be able to provide my students with books that show that their cultures are important.
