These materials will help students make a meaningful connection to the literature they read, Ominvore's Dilemma, and the ecological environment that is integral to their agricultural community. A wonderful component to this is the ability for students at home to share in the early stages of caterpillar development, and to participate virtually or in person, with social distancing, with the project and release. My reading class will be collaborating with the science class for this project. This project offers an opportunity for group work and discussion, and a butterfly-cam observation for inclusion. As students learn about the food chain and their environment, they can apply what they read by participating in a butterfly release.
