How do we know how electrons are organized around the nucleus of an atom? How far can that plane travel before it runs out of fuel? What would happen to the wetland ecosystem if the earth was 2 degrees warmer? When working out a tricky conundrum, you might "jot a few notes," "doodle some thoughts" or make a "mind map." Students need strategies to make their thinking plain and clear. In the digital realm, where our lessons now live, drawing a diagram to explain an idea or working out math to solve a problem is a bigger challenge...especially on a typical laptop without a touchscreen. The purchase of 16 digital drawing tablets will help my students show their thinking, revise, and communicate their ideas. It will help me, as their teacher, see their progress and give feedback and help me plan their next learning steps based on their thinking, calculations and misconceptions.
