These materials will make an IMMENSE difference in their learning. They will have actual books and workbooks to have at home so they are not on the computer all day as well as the use of a speaker to work on listening and working on hearing different letter sounds in words. When learning at home it can be difficult for a Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing student to listen over the computer all day so it is good for them to have something to do independently such as reading or doing math so they can take a sensory break. All 9 students also come from low-income families so these are items that families cannot purchase themselves.
