These are trying times for us all however, for my Hybrid Learning Global History this year will be the most challenging they have likely ever faced. Not only will many return to the classroom after the lost of countless family and friends, many will not be able to afford the basic school supplies required to keep them safe during a Pandemic. As an Educator, in a NYC Title 1 public school, it is imperative that I ensure my students safety and academic engagement while in my classroom. The whiteboards and the dry erase markers will provide my students with the opportunity to engage each other in discussion while adhering to social distancing guidelines. In addition, the whiteboards will allow me to Check for Understanding by providing an easy place for them to show and share their work while maintaining social distance guidelines. The Clorox wipes will allow me to clean the whiteboards, markers and student desks quickly during transitional periods. The Pocket Charts and Folders will allow me to arrange a hand out station where students will receive crucial academic information while socially distancing. The notebooks will be distributed to students who can't afford to purchase their own as this year as a means to prepare them for the Global History Regents. Ultimately, each item in this project will allow me to bring Global History to life for my students while simultaneously keeping them safe during a Global Pandemic.
