The materials I am requesting will have a great impact on Kindergarten students learning how to read. Kindergarten is the foundation for students to begin to learn how to read. It is important that students practice reading everyday not only at school but at home as well. These Little Readers books will be used as take home books for students to continue to learn how to read. The purpose of these books will ensure that all students have books to read at home. By partnering with parents to help their child learn how to read will benefit their child in so many ways. For example, their literacy skills, language skills, and listening skills will strengthen to name a few. In order for children to be successful in school they must know how to read. I enjoy teaching Kindergarten. My students are eager to learn and want to succeed. To help them prepare for their future career’s and college the time starts now. My students enjoy showing me with excitement what they have learned. I will help my students learn different strategies on how to read. By reading at home with their parents, this will give students extra time to practice these strategies and be able to demonstrate them on their own. Lastly, these take home books will be used as a way to help students learn how to read in collaboration with parents. A reading log sheet will be used to document the time spent reading daily at home. These books will be given to students at the beginning of the week to take home. Students will bring the books back to class at the end of the week and read them to me in small groups. I look forward to seeing my students read.
