The curriculum that is often required of teachers to teach to their students is not culturally responsive to the students that I teach nor does it allow them to make meaningful connections to their own culture, language or life experiences. I want to bring curriculum to my students that will help to validate and reflect their diversity, identity and experiences. I am asking for two gift cards to Teacherspayteachers. This will allow me to purchase curriculum that is anti-racist and teaches history of events and people that are often overlooked or never mentioned in more streamlined textbooks or curriculum. These resources teach about Indigenous Americans, African Americans, and Latinx peoples in America.
