Funding this project means that each student in my class will have access to engaging and relevant reading materials for this school year and for years to come. The materials will also provide an opportunity for my students to learn, discuss, unpack deeper levels of meanings, and build knowledge together as a class through a wide range of texts. I want my students to enjoy and fall in love with books. Reading books sparks curiosity, enhances vocabulary, builds language, promotes creativity, and so much more. Fiction books will provide the foundation of storytelling and nonfiction books will teach students about informational texts. Both types of genres will help them with their writing.
