Hello! I am Mrs. Dahlquist, and the kindergartens I work with are in the lower percentile of their classes. I have a small group from each kindergarten classroom at my school. Due to the Covid-19 virus the students cannot share their classroom tools. I have asked for a lidded box for each student which I will label with their name and fill up with the necessary tools for their learning!
With your help, each child will have the tools in their individual box to help aid them in learning their alphabet, learning to read, and working with beginning math.
I plan to use plastic alphabet letters to help teach the children their letter names and eventually the students will use them to sounds out words. Additionally, I'll use clear plastic clipboards to use for tracing. The students will use dry erase markers on the clipboards to work on writing letters and words. Crayons and pencils will be used by the students to learn to hold them correctly to write and draw. Math manipulatives and ten frames will be used to help teach math concepts and beginning math. I have so many ideas for educational projects utilizing a paper cutting machine that will make learning fun and easy! Plastic boxes will be used to hold each student's learning tools and supplies to keep everyone safe by having an individual space for each student during these Covid-19 school days. These supplies will enable each student to have the critical supplies they need to become successful beginning readers and learn elementary math.
Please consider helping these precious children to feel special and to gain the tools they need for success in learning to read and beginning math!!!
Thank you,
Mrs. Dahlquist
