My school is piloting a Social Emotional period twice a week with our homeroom classes. However, many of my students are sharing frustration with constantly being on the computer for distance learning. We will be using the sketchbooks as art journals to give them a chance to reflect and express themselves away from the screen. The versatility of art helps students will a wide range of ability and English language learning. The art markers will be used to write and create images, in addition to the crafts that were already sent home. My hope is to build trust with students so they feel safe and ready to learn throughout the day!
