I am requesting various sensory items. I want my students to be able to hold them in their hands so they can fidget and still hold their attention towards what they're learning. I work with many students who have attention difficulties and research has shown that sensory items help those with attention difficulties in the least restrictive way to improve focus and keep their attention. Flexible seating will help the children that have a hard time sitting in a regular seat where they can safely get their wiggles out. I ordered fun seats and bands that will potentially help a child with attention problems so they can push their feet against the bands on the chair. The wobble stools will also give a different option for students who would like to get their wiggles out in a safe way. Anything that will help them to keep their attention in the least restrictive way is what I want for my students. These items will help remove some distractions they struggle with and help them to focus and learn.
