The understandable, mandatory use of face masks worn by staff and peers in schools and the community due to COVID 19 have posed an extreme challenge to my students who are deaf and hard of hearing. They rely on lip-reading and facial expressions to put together the pieces of spoken communication that we take for granted. I am a teacher of the deaf/hard of hearing and my aim is to be able to project my face on the large screen at school from a distance (while at school) or remotely from home; directly onto the document we are reviewing for lessons. These lessons will use both the document camera and the web camera along with a technology teaching tool that allows me to directly put my face onto a document, website, learning game, as I explain the lesson.
