As we spend our school day at home, it is important to read not only for educational purposes but for enjoyment too. It is very important that children have access to good quality literature. Not only will these books provide the opportunity for reading, they will also give my students the opportunity to practice their writing skills. As we know, reading and writing are intertwined and as many times as we give students to read, they should be given the opportunity to write. As an extension to the classroom learning experience, students will be asked to read and keep a reader's response journal to write not only about the text itself but about their feelings as they read.
