My young students have a passion and desire to learn. Given the rural location of my school, some students do not have exposure to the diversity that is in our world! I would like to provide my students with a way to connect to characters, stories and challenges of others! When students read, hear, and look at books with characters who may not look like them it will have the power to bring people together and open their minds and hearts to others. Many of the books in my classroom library are wonderful, but lack diverse characters. Giving the children more books with an assortment of characters, will provide these young minds with an opportunity to grow!
