All 25 students have returned to the classroom. Many students are transitioning back to five days a week sitting at a desk in a classroom. I want to help ease this transition back with flexible seating. Students can choose a seat where they learn best. Fifth graders need independence and choice with their learning. Sixty percent of my class is categorized as learning disabled or multilingual. These students especially need an area to sit where they are going to learn best. Some need to move their bodies as they learn and some need a comfortable seat closer to the board. They will choose to sit where they need to.
