My students' main interests are books in the form of comics or graphic novels. The majority of my student body consists of lower working class families on the socio-economic scale. With this being said, they often do not have access to the newest books and trends. My goal is to able to keep a steady flow of new and updated books that pique their interest so the love of reading expands and not diminishes. My hope is that when my kids read these books, and these type of books, they will be able to become more excited when we are having Independent Reading time. I know my students cannot wait to get their hands on new books!
