We will study the mystery genre in my 7th and 8th grade Language Arts classes. Small groups of students will read different texts and compare what the authors do to inspire tension. They will solve cases with great characters, and find joy in reading. We will incorporate both reading and writing in this unit by studying these authors. Help my students be the next Sherlocks as they delve into amazing young adult mysteries. Inspire them with a love of literature and the thrill of the chase. All books will be used in small reading groups in ELA and elective courses.
