I teach in a low income, poverty level school. During the 2019-2020 school year, sixty-five percent of our students were on free or reduced lunch. We eat lunch at 10:30 a.m. so by mid afternoon my students are hungry, especially if lunch was something they didn't really like. In years past I have used a snack calendar and asked students to bring enough snacks for the whole class for two days. This works well most of the time, however; with COVID-19, our principal would prefer we cut back on what we have coming from home. If I have each student bring their own snack, there would be several that don't have a snack at all. The snacks, brain boosters, I have chosen will provide my students with an afternoon snack for at least 50 school days.
