The use of headphones is a daily necessity in my classroom, especially during language arts. I love doing rotations during our literacy block. During that time I have students work on a reading/language program called Lexia. They need to use headphones to make sure they can understand the instructions and the different words being said. We also use them for reading checks. They have individual books catered to their reading needs that they read out loud to themselves into their headphones while recording. Later I or the student can go back and listen to them reading. This helps to identify areas of struggle that need growth. Our current headphones do not work properly. Kids often can't use the microphone or hear what they are suppose to be listening to. They are always breaking even though the students take great care of them. By donating to our project, you will be helping to improve students reading skills and ultimately help increase focus and academic achievement.
