I am, like many others, teaching my students online. Their attention begins to wander during online lessons. I would like each of my early childhood students to have a calendar activity board in their homes, that matches the calendar activity board that I will have in my home classroom. I want the students to be able to participate in this activity as if I was in their home. During homebound lessons, they pick the letter of the day from a group of letters and place it on the board. We often have the letter of the day go places-for instance under the desk or in front of our knee. The students love this activity and are actively engaged in the lesson. These hands on activities keep the student engaged in the lesson and promote learning in a way that a person doing it on the computer screen never could.
