These books have been chosen with my students in mind. They will allow me and my students to read, discuss and celebrate books that make them feel seen, heard, affirmed and valued. These inclusive titles also highlight non-dominant identities and and voices that will expose some of my students to experiences beyond their own. With my support, all of my students will be able to access the text from both a language/literacy standpoint and a cultural standpoint. Representation matters and by donating to our project you will help nurture authentic reading identities by increasing access to high-quality books, building community, and fostering a sense of belonging. These books will champion my students and books that reflect their lived realities, communities and identities. Help me empower my students as readers, writers and leaders. Together we will promote a love of reading in our school and community through these books. Let's amplify voices and stories of students and educators of color.
