I teach in a Special Education classroom, grades kindergarten through third grade. My students need a cozy and calming place to go when they need a break. The children will be able to relax, look at a book, or use fidget toys in the calming area. The children will benefit from this area because when a student is upset or having a meltdown, this will be a safe place for them to go. This will be a safe place, because there will be beanbags, and throw pillows, to help them to calm down.
