A calm down corner will be a space where students will l have the opportunity to apply various coping mechanisms in order to deal with "big" feelings. This is crucial as students have not been in a classroom since March 2020 due to COVID-19. The use of this corner allows students time to think before they act, and practice coping skills they can use throughout their lifetime. Students can escape to their "zen den" tent, relax on the bean bag chair, and use play-doh, yoga cards, coloring books, try different breathing exercises, and identify their feelings.
