All of my students work diligently to improve their English speaking skills. They often record videos of themselves to hear how much their English has improved and will send feedback to other classmates to let them know what they do well in and what they may need to improve. They can use the tablets to access learning programs such as Rosetta Stone and SummitK12. These newcomer students are also enrolled into an English course that will prepare them for state-standardized testing. Access to the internet to connect images or tangible items with a brand new word in English will be made easier with these tablets. Students will also learn how they can effectively incorporate technology into their learning. Handheld computers, like smartphones and tablets, have so much to offer.
