Social and emotional learning (SEL) is essential for today's child. Every morning, our entire school has a "Squad" meeting where the focus is on SEL. The 5 components of SEL learning are self awareness, self management, responsible decision making, relationship skills, and social awareness. Teaching daily SEL skills will help children to be more resilient and give them the skills to access when they are presented with a conflict or problem. In turn, leading to better academic achievement and overall improved behavior. Funding this project will help me to continue to teach my kinders to make appropriate choices in their daily lives.
