During my online teacher training, I learned ways in which to improve student success, while doing remote learning at home. Students should have a specific study station or learning spot set up at home. It should include a desk/table, a chair, and other necessary school supplies. In order to facilitate a more equitable instructional learning environment, it is essential that students have a computer/Chromebook, Wi-Fi connections, and headphones. My students live in multi-generational households; because other family members are busy working, studying, playing, and conversing in the same space, it is often difficult for students to remain focused on their daily lessons and materials. Most of my students do not have their own rooms or dedicated spaces for schoolwork. I am convinced that this simple adjustment and attention to care could have a huge impact. I would like to invite you to partner with me, in providing these students with an improved, educational experience. We may not be able to eliminate all challenges, but together I know that if we provide these students with their own comfortable fitting, noise-reducing headphones, they would be able to minimize background distractions so that they could maximize their focus and full potential.
